    Deacon Marilou Schlotterbeck

I am sitting here looking out of my office at all the snow. I have always been grateful for the seasons that God has given us. But does He have to rush it?

The last week in November the Christmas Giving Tree will be in the atrium. I know I have already explained this but if you are like me it is better to repeat it than to try and remember it.

The tags will be on the tree for Christmas gifts for children. The tag will state the age and gender of the child. Please only buy a toy item for them. An educational toy is always a good option. Bring the toy to St. Philip's UNWRAPPED. It will be placed with other toys for the families to come in and shop. This gives the parents the opportunity to pick out the toys they want for their children.

Toys for Tots will be participating again this year. Gift certificates will be given out to families with children to purchase food for the holidays. The Department of Human Services (FIA) has been working diligently to make this program possible with little resources. We have had two fund raisers to raise money for gift certificates for food. If you prefer to donate money to that cause, please see me.

This time of year I always think of the many blessings God has given our family. The safe arrival of twins, nine grandchildren, a very caring and loving family. I also thank God for steering us to St. Philip's. You are part of our family and the way you have welcomed my children has been a double blessing to me.

Our family wishes you a very Blessed Christmas and a Happy & Safe New Year!
